Fresh Impression: Blockhandling 2011
To welcome new faces in the College of Mass Communication, the UP Journalism Club participated in the college’s Freshmen Blockhandling Activity held at the Inquirer Classroom, last June 13.
UPJC was assigned to handle Block 11, composed of 18 Journalism freshmen, shiftees, and transferees. After the Welcome assembly arranged by the CMC Student Council, UPJC took the freshies to a different venue where food and games were prepared for them by the External Affairs Committee. The JCers also offered their help and gave the Freshies some tips and trivia about the UP life, acting as the block’s ate’s and kuya’s.
All throughout the Freshie Week and until the end of this academic year, UPJC shall guide Block 11 in their first year in UP Maskom. Furthermore, the JCers shall train them in practicing critical thought and action as they pursue journalism.
