Deadline: Reign of Impunity
To address the persisting issue of journalist killings, the Asian Congress for Media and Communication, with the UP Journalism Club and UP Department of Journalism sponsored a screening of Deadline, a film exploring the culture of impunity in the Philippines.
Shown at the UP Film Center last June 28, Deadline (Reign of Impunity) follows the struggles of a group of journalists uncovering the truth about a warlord and governor in Mindanao. The indie film was inspired by the 2009 Maguindanao Massacre.
Directed by Joel Lamangan and written by Bonifcaio Ilagan, Deadline stars Luis Alandy, TJ Trinidad, Lovi Poe, Tirso Cruz III, Allen Dizon, and Ina Feleo.
