Members of the UP Journalism Club (UPJC) ventured into the world of children as they organized an Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE) at the Philippine Star Room 2 last August 18.

Entitled “Mediaskwela: Media’s Role in Promoting Alternative Quality Education”, the event discussed television’s showcase of educational shows and how they have spurred in to reach remote areas to help out-of-school youth and teach them basic education.

Speakers include Doris Nuval, Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc.’s Director for Resource Mobilization, and Raffy Mandala, Anakbayan’s National Treasure and Public Information Office

The speakers tackled the current projects of Knowledge Channel, an organization aimed at presenting educational shows to children and individuals alike. They also touched on the current status of the Philippine education system.
