May Fiesta sa Skywalk: The 55th Anniversary Grand Pakain
The fiesta transformed CMC Skywalk into a small banquet hall when the UP Journalism Club held its Grand Pakain on January 29, 2010 from 12nn-2pm.
To fund the Grand Pakain, the JCers brought clothes, books, accessories and other items for two rummage sales organized by the Finance Committee on January 19 and 21 at the Dagohoy basketball court near Balay Internasyunal. From morning till afternoon, the members used their free time in selling the rummage items to willing customers until they collected enough money to sponsor the event.
The Grand Pakain turned out to be a success when not less than fifty students from the College of Mass Communication (CMC) and guests from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) trooped to the Skywalk to enjoy the feast prepared by the Finance Committee.
Dean Rolando Tolentino of CMC gave his opening remarks and applauded UPJC’s 55th year.
